Build basic computer skills and confidence to participate in today’s online world with these free classes for beginners. Register for select classes or all four.
Week 1 / Nov 14: Getting Started
Build foundational skills, such as understanding different computer parts, powering on/off, computer desktop tools, web browsers and using a keyboard and mouse.
Week 2 / Nov 21: Using the Internet
Learn online skills such as connecting to WiFi networks, identifying different web browsers, and searching for and evaluating information.
Week 3 / Nov 28: Email
Learn email skills such as logging in, inbox layout, sending/receiving messages, and recognizing scam and phishing emails. There will also be an opportunity to sign up for your own Gmail account.
Week 4 / Dec 5: Internet Safety & Security
Participants will learn how to protect themselves and their personal information.

The Carlyle King Library officially opened Oct 16, 1979 and is located in the Cosmo Civic Centre. Carlyle King was the first library to be part of a multi-purpose facility in Saskatoon. It was named in honour of Carlyle King who, in addition to a distinguished academic career, was actively involved in the Saskatchewan Library Advisory Council, the Saskatchewan Library Association and the Saskatoon Public Library Board (1955-1972).
