Newcomers are invited to learn essential information about settling in Saskatchewan. Learn how healthcare, transportation, banking, education, and other systems and services work in this province.
Other topics include, how to get your driver’s license, find a family doctor, register your children at school, rent a house, search for jobs, and much more. The session is offered in English, as well as Arabic, Mandarin, Ukrainian, Dari, Pashto and many other languages.

The J.S. Wood Library opened in 1961 and is named after James Stuart Wood, who was born in England in 1891 and worked as a college librarian before enlisting in the British Army. He came to Canada with his family in 1925, teaching in Nipawin and Prince Albert before taking the role of Chief Librarian at Saskatoon Public Library in 1938.
