Join Write Out Loud as they host a poetry slam for youth. Share your poems, your lyrics, your stories and your words, either as a part of a poetry slam or open mic. Beginners welcome!
The show will also feature a performance from Lindsay "Eekwol" Knight, an award-winning hip-hop artist and activist.
About Lindsay “Eekwol” Knight
Lindsay “Eekwol” Knight is a nehiyaw (Muskoday First Nation) and settler (Russian) award-winning hip-hop performing artist and activist living in Saskatoon, Treaty Six Territory. She has dedicated years to the culture and craft of hip-hop to create something unique and astounding to give back to the community. Eekwol uses her music and words to spread messages of resistance, revolution and keeping the language, land and culture alive for the next generations. Through her original sound, she displays her activist roots by living and creating as a supporter of both hip-hop and Indigenous culture and rights.
Along with her music and academic work, Lindsay frequently works with musicians and young people across the country as a mentor and helper. She achieves this through performances, workshops, speaking events, conferences and programs.

The Frances Morrison Central Library officially opened on May 28, 1966. This facility was named after Frances Morrison, who served as Saskatoon Public Library’s (SPL) chief librarian from 1961 to 1980. The Frances Morrison Central Library is the largest of SPL’s nine libraries and houses a dedicated Children’s Department, Fine Arts Department, Local History Room, Theatre, a computer lab, Innovation Lab, SPL's Writer in Residence, Accessibility Services and various administrative offices.
