Award-winning local author, Renée Kohlman, will read from her cookbooks, Vegetables: A Love Story and All the Sweet Things.
Renée Kohlman has been cooking and baking professionally for over 20 years. Her best-selling debut cookbook, All the Sweet Things (TouchWood Editions), won Gold at the Taste Canada Awards in 2018 for Best Single Subject Cookbook. Vegetables: A Love Story (TouchWood Editions), her second cookbook, was published in October 2021 and was named one of the top 100 Books of 2021 by The Globe and Mail. Renée can currently be found in her kitchen, baking up delicious jumbo gourmet cookies which she sells at The Saskatoon Farmers’ Market every weekend, and at her desk writing articles for the Saskatoon StarPhoenix and other publications.
The Frances Morrison Central Library officially opened on May 28, 1966. This facility was named after Frances Morrison, who served as Saskatoon Public Library’s (SPL) chief librarian from 1961 to 1980. The Frances Morrison Central Library is the largest of SPL’s nine libraries and houses a dedicated Children’s Department, Fine Arts Department, Local History Room, Theatre, a computer lab, Innovation Lab, SPL's Writer in Residence, Accessibility Services and various administrative offices.
