Performers on Parade features professional performers in the areas of music, dance, theatre, and more! Each week a different performer will visit each library in the city.
Mike Diakuw, aka “Captain Orange”, is a father, performer and library storyteller with more than 25 years of experience working with and entertaining children. Mike’s love of stories, diverse technology, improvisation and active engagement with an audience have led him to everything from musical theater to childcare to performing weekly at Saskatoon Public Library. He offers stories, puppetry and improvisation in a variety of forms, including as the characters of Captain Orange and ShadowTeller.
Free tickets are available a half-hour before the event begins.

The Frances Morrison Central Library officially opened on May 28, 1966. This facility was named after Frances Morrison, who served as Saskatoon Public Library’s (SPL) chief librarian from 1961 to 1980. The Frances Morrison Central Library is the largest of SPL’s nine libraries and houses a dedicated Children’s Department, Fine Arts Department, Local History Room, Theatre, a computer lab, Innovation Lab, SPL's Writer in Residence, Accessibility Services and various administrative offices.
