Join us to celebrate and learn about First Nations and Métis cultures.
Mahihkanak Dance Troupe is an award-winning celebration of Indigenous youth and powwow dance culture. Students from grades 6 – 9 at St. Frances Cree Bilingual school bring their form of expression and style of dance to the troupe. We have junior and teen boys and girls in various categories: fancy, jingle, traditional, chicken and grass.
Led by the Indigenous Student Achievement Coordinator (ISAC), Mahihkanak Dance Troupe makes various excursions and trips throughout the year, including to powwows, special events, schools and organizations. Members of the dance troupe must maintain good attendance and grades.
