Build basic computer skills and confidence to participate in today’s online world with these free classes for beginners. Drop in for select classes or all four.
Week 1: Getting Started
Build foundational skills, such as understanding different computer parts, powering on/off, computer desktop tools, web browsers and using a keyboard and mouse.
Week 2: Using the Internet
Learn online skills such as connecting to WiFi networks, identifying different web browsers, and searching for and evaluating information.
Week 3: Email
Learn email skills such as logging in, inbox layout, sending/receiving messages, and recognizing scam and phishing emails. There will also be an opportunity to sign up for your own Gmail account.
Week 4: Internet Safety & Security
Participants will learn how to protect themselves and their personal information.

The Alice Turner Library replaced the smaller Sutherland Branch in December 1998. It was named after Alice Turner McFarland who was a library employee for 37 years and Saskatoon Public Library's chief librarian from 1981 to 1989. The first library in Canada to be built to the standards of C-2000 construction, Canada's environmental building code, the Alice Turner Library was expanded to double its original size in 2013.
